Artist's Comments

This is the Katana I've been working on recently.

It's my own custom Katana, with a Tsuba I designed.

I also decided to make a scabbard for this one, which was challenging, but I'm very please with the results.

This was also my first attempt at handle wrapping which came out very well.

At the moment, I haven't named the Katana, so if anyone can think of a good name for it then please say.

Wow, I like that... 'tis an awesome sword...

Maybe you could name it Unholy?

I named my guitar unholy... They'll be like brothers!

=D
Wow It's really good=D! Well you mentioned the Tsuba so Tsubasa?

Wow, this looks really good. Can't think of a name at the moment, but just wanted to let you know of a job well done!

I hope you plan on putting more pictures up! I really like it, the handle wrap looks good, and the finish seems very clean and sharp. I'm interested in what you used as a finish for the sheath as well if you don't mind sharing secrets. Very cool!
Thanks :D

Tsubasa sounds like something from Lion King

I'll take some closer photos at different angles and put em together.

I used Black Satin finish spray paint for the sheath, finished with a spray varnish.
You can actually see the grain of wood which I found strange, as I did spray a white coat primer, but it looks quite good.

I'm more than happy to sharing my techniques :D
